Tattooed tears of joy

So often we sit in judgment of those who display blatant wickedness and immorality because it is in direct disagreement with the Word of God. I am guilty of doing this. The heart of many entertainers cries out through writing that suggests a tormented soul that desires to do right but all too often chooses wrong. The Rick Ross Lyric - I have tattooed tears of Joy is one such example. He states that he wants to walk in the image of Christ but goes through an entire song that is far from that goal. The sounds much like the slavery that Paul describes in the book of Romans that believers are freed from when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Rather than looking down at Secular icons for the messages they espouse, I choose to stand in the gap for them and offer prayer and petition to our Lord that they may come to know the freedom from the sin that has them bound. I look forward to seeing change occur in their lives because slavery isn't enjoyable for anyone despite how the music may make things appear.
